A coloured line is drawn at some angle, with four more lines labelled A to D. The student picks the one that is parallel, or perpendicular, to it.
The lines can sit at any angle, not just upright, and whichever relation is asked for, the other one is among the choices. So the student has to compare the turn between lines, not just spot a cross.
