Single-digit addition and subtraction
Add or subtract two single-digit numbers, such as 7 + 5 or 9 − 4. About half the questions are addition and half subtraction.
The larger number always comes first, so a subtraction never goes below zero. Sums go up to 18, so some additions cross ten.
