A number bond shows the whole in one circle, joined to its two parts in two smaller circles. One circle is empty, and the student picks the number that belongs there from four tiles.
A missing whole means adding the parts. A missing part means subtracting, or counting on from the part that's shown. The wrong tiles include the usual slips, like adding the two numbers on show when a part is missing.
