Add numbers in columns and write each carried digit in the small box above the next column. The carries are checked along with the answer, because writing them down is the skill being practised.
Questions add two 2-digit numbers, three 2-digit numbers (so a carry can be 2), or a 3-digit number and a 2- or 3-digit number. The ones column always carries.
