Probability with coins and dice

Grade 4 · Data, graphs and probability

Coins are flipped or dice are tossed, and the student finds the probability of an outcome, such as at least 1 five with 2 dice or exactly 2 heads with 3 coins. The answer is a fraction.

Listing every possible outcome and counting the ones that fit is the reliable method, and 'at least', 'at most' and 'exactly' each count differently.
