Multiplication as equal groups

Grade 2 · Multiplication and division

Single-digit multiplication shown as equal groups: 3 × 4 is 3 plates with 4 cookies on each. Sometimes the plates start empty and the student fills them; sometimes they start full, or the cookies are lined up in rows as an array.

Pictures can be moved between plates, and rows can be turned round to see 3 rows of 4 become 4 rows of 3. Only the number typed after the = sign is marked.
