Missing digits in long multiplication

Grade 4 · Multiplication and division

A long multiplication of two 2-digit numbers, PQ × QP, is set out in full: both rows of working and the answer. P and Q are digits, and the student works out what they are.

The working holds the clues: the last digit of the first row, for instance, comes from Q × P. It's a puzzle about how long multiplication works, not just a sum.
